Faulty / Defective Real Tone cable for Rocksmith

SPØRSMÅL:

My guitar is not detected when attempting to play Rocksmith, is my cable defective?

RESPONSE:

To help determine if your Real Tone cable is defective you can connect your cable and guitar to your PC to perform a simple test. Whether you have the game on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC you can follow the procedure below, all you need is access to a PC or laptop with a USB 2.0 port. Please read on for details:

1. Switch on your PC and connect your guitar to your USB port using the official Real Tone cable.

2. Click on Start, Accessories and then open Sound Recorder
I
f you are using Windows XP you will find the Sound Recorder under Accessories, Entertainment.

3. Click on 'Start Recording' and start playing some notes on your guitar. Once you stop the recording (just a couple of seconds will do), save the recording to your system.

4. The final step is to simply play back the recording in any media player software to ensure the sound can be heard. Remember to make sure you have your speakers on before playing back the file.

If you do not hear anything, then this may suggest you have a problem with your cable. Please see HERE for information on how to proceed if you have a faulty cable.
