Disabling and enabling the 2-Step Verification on a new smartphone

I have a new phone. How do I enable 2-Step Verification on my new device?

ANSWER:


If you change to a new mobile device and want to continue using the 2-Step Verification with the Google Authenticator, you will be required to disable the 2-Step Verification first, as generated code is tied to your device.

To disable the 2-Step verification, please have a verification code or one of your recovery code at the ready and refer to our dedicated article.
